The hooded jacket gets underestimated constantly and we’ve never fully understood why. It sits in that exact space between a casual layer and something with real structure, and when it’s done right it works harder than almost anything else in a wardrobe. The problem is that most of them are done wrong. Either the hood is too large and pulls the whole thing off balance, or the fabric is too thin to mean anything, or the fit sits in that unfortunate no man’s land between athletic and tailored.
What we’ve been looking for here are pieces that have actual considered design behind them. Hoods that sit flat when down. Fabrics with some weight and weather resistance. Cuts that work over a crewneck without looking bulky or over a shirt without looking shapeless. Price points vary across this edit because the right jacket at the right budget is always the move. These are the ones that actually deliver.
