The bomber jacket has an image problem that has nothing to do with the silhouette itself. Years of fast fashion versions in thin nylon with sloppy rib trim have made it easy to dismiss. That is a mistake. A well made cotton bomber, in a substantial fabric with a clean finish and rib that actually holds its shape, is one of the most useful layering pieces a man can own. It works over a crew neck, under a heavier coat when the temperature drops further, and handles that in between weather that neither a light jacket nor anything heavier quite solves. We have been looking specifically at cotton versions because the fabric breathes, presses well, and ages in a way synthetic alternatives never do. The cut matters too. Too boxy and it reads costume. Too slim and it loses the ease that makes the shape work in the first place. The ones here get that balance right. Worth taking seriously.
